I have a fun story to share about this song ^^ forgive me if I make any mistakes, English isn’t my first language. This happened when my mother was 15 in the 90s. At a time when the high school she was going to is an all girls school (it’s coed now). This all girls school is beside an all boys school (which is coed now too). As you can imagine, this arrangement caused the girls and the boys to be “kilig” (for lack of a better term) with each other. Now, these two schools happen to have a close history with each other, so sometimes they do joint events or activities. And when my mother was grade 9, the schools decided to hold an acquaintance party for her batch of students in both schools. The girls were excited of course, my mother included- so they made sure to powder their faces, put lipstick on, and do their hair for the party. I don’t want to brag, but my mama is very pretty. During the party, she was just having fun with her friends when a boy took the microphone on stage. She paid no mind to it until he got down the stage and found her in the crowd, asking her to dance. My surprised mother just laughed and accepted his offer. Then the instrumental of this song started to play, and he sang the song for her while they were dancing. She told me that since he was a class vice president, he was probably helped by his classmates so he could serenade my mom. It’s a fond memory which she brings up whenever she hears this song 🩷🩷🩷
